Would you like to know your numbers and understand your numbers?

1. Blood Pressure.

The top number is the systolic and it tells us the force of blood against your arteries when your heart beats. The bottom number is the diastolic and it is the force when your heart is at rest. A good blood pressure is no higher than 120/80.

2. Cholesterol Levels.

There are two important ratios to know. The first is Total Cholesterol : HDL and it indicates your risk of heart disease and stroke. The second ratio is Triglyceride : HDL and is an indicator of metabolic syndrome and insulin resistance. What are your ratios?

3. Blood Glucose.

Blood glucose should be 4 – 7.5 mMol. Your doctor may also measure your blood glucose using HgA1C. This gives an average blood glucose for the past 6 weeks and should be below 40 mMol/mol.

4. Waist to Hip Ratio

Measure your waist at the level of your bellybutton. Measure your hips at the widest part. The ratio should be less than 0.8 in women and less than 0.95 in men. If you just want to measure your waist, the goal is less than 80cm for women and less than 94cm for men.

I can help you understand how to calculate these numbers, what they indicate, and provide you with measures to improve them.
